📝 Instructions

12 steps
1

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess grease.

2

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onion is softened and translucent.

3

Stir in the marinara sauce, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.

4

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg. Mix well until smooth and set aside.

5

Lightly grease the inside of a slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray or oil.

6

Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce (about 1 cup) on the bottom of the slow cooker.

7

Place three uncooked lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, breaking them as needed to fit. Do not overlap the noodles too much.

8

Spread a third of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layering process (noodles, ricotta, meat sauce) two more times.

9

Finish the top layer with the remaining meat sauce and sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.

10

Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on LOW for 4 hours or until the noodles are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

11

Turn off the slow cooker and let the lasagna sit for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will make it easier to cut and serve.

12

Optional: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the lasagna for garnish before serving.
