📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the linguine and set aside.

2

Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.

3

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

4

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

5

Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then stir in the grated parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

6

Add the reserved pasta water, a few tablespoons at a time, to loosen the sauce if needed. Stir in the red pepper flakes, lemon juice, and season with additional salt and black pepper to taste.

7

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce. Add the cooked linguine and toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is fully coated in the sauce.

8

Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the top and serve immediately with extra parmesan cheese, if desired.
