📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the Italian sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the sausages from the skillet and set them aside.

2

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and yellow onion. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened.

3

Add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

4

Slice the browned sausages into 1-inch pieces and return them to the skillet. Stir them into the vegetable mixture and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the sausages are fully cooked and everything is well combined.

5

Preheat your oven broiler. Slice the hoagie rolls in half lengthwise, but do not cut all the way through. Place them on a baking sheet.

6

Place a slice of provolone cheese inside each hoagie roll. Broil the rolls for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the bread is lightly toasted.

7

Spoon the sausage, onion, and peppers mixture into each hoagie roll, dividing it evenly among the 4 rolls.

8

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Sausage, Onion, and Peppers Hoagie!
