📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti or linguine according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

2

Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season them with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.

3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

4

Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet. Once the butter is melted, stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

5

Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, reducing slightly. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.

6

Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together, adding a bit of the reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.

7

Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the pasta and give it one final toss. Taste and adjust seasoning, if necessary.

8

Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
