📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

Rinse the sea scallops under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Remove the side muscle from each scallop if present.

2

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together white miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil to create the miso glaze.

3

Grate or finely mince the garlic clove and stir it into the miso glaze mixture.

4

Set your oven to broil and position a rack about 6-8 inches from the broiler element. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it with oil or cooking spray.

5

Arrange the scallops on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one. Brush a generous amount of the miso glaze onto the top of each scallop.

6

Broil the scallops for 4-6 minutes, or until the tops are caramelized and slightly golden. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.

7

While the scallops broil, thinly slice the green onions for garnish.

8

Remove the scallops from the oven and transfer them to a serving plate. Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

9

Serve immediately as an appetizer or as part of an entrée with steamed rice and sautéed vegetables.
