📝 Instructions

12 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

2

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.

3

Sauté the diced onion for 2-3 minutes until translucent, then add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

4

Add the ground beef (or pork) to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes.

5

Stir in the shredded cabbage, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the cabbage is softened and the mixture is well combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

6

On a lightly floured surface, roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan, trimming off any excess dough around the edges.

7

Spoon the meat and cabbage mixture into the pie shell, spreading it out evenly.

8

Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Trim and crimp the edges to seal the pie.

9

In a small bowl, mix the beaten egg with milk (if using) to make an egg wash. Brush this mixture over the top crust for a golden finish.

10

Cut a few small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking.

11

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cooked through.

12

Remove the pie from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
