πŸ“ Instructions

8 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking pan. Line it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.

2

In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, and chopped macadamia nuts. Mix until the ingredients form a crumbly dough texture.

3

Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool slightly.

4

While the crust is baking, prepare the filling. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, eggs, cornstarch, and baking powder until smooth and well combined.

5

Pour the lemon filling over the warm crust, spreading it evenly. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until the filling is set and no longer jiggles in the center.

6

Remove the pan from the oven and let the bars cool completely at room temperature. Then transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours.

7

Once fully chilled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out of the pan. Cut into 12 squares or rectangles.

8

Dust the tops of the bars generously with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
