📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Wash the Brussels sprouts thoroughly and pat them dry. Trim the ends and remove any discolored outer leaves. Slice each Brussels sprout in half lengthwise.

2

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. Zest the lemon and juice it, keeping them separate for later use.

3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot but not smoking, add the Brussels sprouts cut-side down in a single layer. Let them sear undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.

4

Toss the Brussels sprouts in the skillet and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelized.

5

Reduce the heat to low and push the sprouts to one side of the skillet. Add the minced garlic to the empty side and sauté for 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Mix the garlic into the Brussels sprouts.

6

Remove the skillet from heat and immediately drizzle the lemon juice over the sprouts. Sprinkle with lemon zest, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.

7

If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese while the sprouts are still warm to let it melt slightly.

8

Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm. Enjoy your lemony Brussels sprouts!
