📝 Instructions

11 steps
1

Rinse the pork bones under cold water to remove impurities. Place them in a large pot and cover with enough water to boil.

2

Bring the pot to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, let it boil for 5 minutes. This helps to remove more impurities from the bones.

3

Drain the bones and rinse them again. Clean the pot, then return the bones to the pot.

4

Add 12 cups of water to the pot with the bones.

5

Peel and quarter the onion, slice the garlic cloves in half, and peel the ginger. Add these to the pot.

6

Peel and slice the carrots and daikon radish into large chunks. Add them to the pot.

7

Bring the pot to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 2.5 to 3 hours. Skim off any foam that forms on the surface of the soup.

8

After the soup has simmered, strain the broth through a fine sieve to remove the solids, returning the clear broth back to the pot. You may choose to keep the carrot and daikon pieces if desired.

9

Add salt, black pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil to the broth. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.

10

Slice the green onions thinly and add them to the soup for garnish.

11

Serve hot, and enjoy the comforting warmth of the pork bone soup.
