- 1 whole (sliced into strips) Lemon or orange peel

Instructions
Start by turning off the garbage disposal and ensuring it is not running.
Pour 1 cup of baking soda directly into the garbage disposal drain.
Follow the baking soda with 1 cup of white vinegar. Allow the mixture to bubble and fizz for about 5-10 minutes. This reaction helps to break down grime and kill odors.
While the mixture is working, prepare 2 cups of ice cubes and 1 cup of coarse salt.
After the baking soda and vinegar reaction has subsided, rinse the disposal with 2 cups of hot water to flush out loosened debris.
Turn the garbage disposal back on and, while it is running, add the ice cubes and coarse salt gradually. These will help to physically scrub the blades and clean hard-to-reach areas.
