📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.

3

Add the spinach to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until wilted. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

4

In a large bowl, combine the cooked spinach mixture, feta cheese, dill, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

5

Place one phyllo pastry sheet on a clean work surface and brush it lightly with melted butter. Fold it in half lengthwise to create a long strip.

6

Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the spinach and feta mixture near one end of the strip. Fold one corner of the pastry over the filling to form a triangle. Continue folding the triangle over itself along the strip until fully wrapped.

7

Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo sheets and filling, placing each turnover on the prepared baking sheet.

8

Brush the tops of the turnovers with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.

9

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the turnovers are golden brown and crisp.

10

Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
