With just 10 minutes of prep and the hands-off convenience of a Crock Pot, you'll achieve that signature caramelized cinnamon coating that gives these almonds their delightful texture and flavor. Ideal for gifting, holiday parties, or a wholesome on-the-go treat, these candied almonds are a crowd-pleaser you’ll want to make again and again. Lashings of cinnamon spice make these almonds a standout, while the low heat of the slow cooker ensures perfectly roasted nuts with a satisfying crunch.
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the egg whites and vanilla extract until the mixture is frothy.
Add the raw almonds to the bowl and stir to coat them evenly with the egg white mixture.
In a separate small bowl, mix together the white granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
Pour the sugar and cinnamon mixture over the almonds and toss until all the almonds are evenly coated.
Spray the inside of your Crock Pot with non-stick cooking spray or use a Crock Pot liner for easy cleanup.
Transfer the coated almonds to the Crock Pot and spread them out evenly.
Set the Crock Pot to low heat and cook the almonds for 3 hours, stirring every 20-30 minutes to prevent sticking or burning.
After 2.5 hours of cooking, add the 1/4 cup of water to the Crock Pot. Stir well to help form the crispy coating on the almonds.
Once done, carefully transfer the almonds to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool and crisp up.
Allow the almonds to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container or enjoying them as a snack!
