📝 Instructions

11 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

2

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes into evenly sized rounds. Rinse in cold water, then pat dry with a kitchen towel.

3

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

4

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute, then add the minced meat. Cook until the meat is browned and no longer pink, breaking apart any clumps with a wooden spoon.

5

Stir in the tomato paste, beef or chicken stock, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

6

Lightly grease a 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking dish with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

7

Arrange a layer of potato slices at the bottom of the dish, slightly overlapping. Spread half of the meat mixture evenly over the potatoes.

8

Place another layer of potato slices on top of the meat, followed by the remaining meat mixture. Finish with a final layer of potato slices.

9

Brush the top layer of potatoes with melted butter and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.

10

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and crispy.

11

Remove the bake from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
