Preheat your oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F) and grease a standard 1kg (2lb) loaf tin or line it with parchment paper.
In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, chopped dates, mixed dried fruits, and cola. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
