📝 Instructions

11 steps
1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and instant yeast.

2

In a saucepan over low heat, warm the milk and butter until the butter is just melted. Allow the mixture to cool to a lukewarm temperature.

3

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs briefly, then combine them with the lukewarm milk and butter mixture.

4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a sticky dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

5

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

6

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out onto a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick.

7

Use a donut cutter or a round cutter to cut out circles of dough, re-rolling scraps as necessary. Place the cut-out donuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

8

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F). Fry each donut for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

9

While still warm, roll each donut in the extra granulated sugar until well coated.

10

Fill a piping bag fitted with a small round tip with the raspberry jam. Insert the tip into the side of each donut and fill with jam until you feel resistance.

11

Serve warm and enjoy your freshly made jam donuts!
