πŸ“ Instructions

14 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 175Β°C (350Β°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. This can be done using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed.

3

Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until fully combined.

4

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt to ensure even mixing.

5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.

6

Stir in the milk to bring the dough together. The dough should be soft but not sticky.

7

Scoop out approximately 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining dough.

8

Pour the additional granulated sugar onto a plate and roll each cookie dough ball in the sugar until fully coated.

9

Place the sugar-coated balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

10

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the cookies are slightly puffy and the edges are just set.

11

While the cookies are baking, unwrap the chocolate kisses and set them aside.

12

Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, gently press one chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. The cookie will crack slightly around the edges, which is normal.

13

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. The chocolate kiss will soften from the residual heat but will firm up as it cools.

14

Serve and enjoy your delightful Chocolate Blossoms!
