πŸ“ Instructions

7 steps
1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cavatelli pasta and cook according to package instructions until just tender. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water before draining the pasta.

2

While the pasta is cooking, prepare the broccoli. Steam or blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender but still slightly crisp. Drain and set aside.

3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sautΓ© for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant and lightly golden.

4

Add the steamed broccoli to the skillet and toss to coat it in the garlic and olive oil. Sprinkle in the red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5

Add the cooked and drained cavatelli pasta to the skillet with the broccoli mixture. Toss everything together, adding small amounts of the reserved pasta cooking water as needed to help bind the sauce to the pasta.

6

Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper, if necessary.

7

Serve the cavatelli with broccoli immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil, if desired. Enjoy!
