📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

Bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil in a large pot. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

2

While the pasta is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

3

Season the shrimp with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

4

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

5

Add the asparagus pieces to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.

6

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. For extra heat, add the red pepper flakes at this stage.

7

Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and use tongs to mix until fully combined. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water, a few tablespoons at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

8

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.

9

Serve immediately while hot, with extra Parmesan cheese on the side for sprinkling.
