📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2

Heat olive oil in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.

3

Stir in the grated carrot and cook for another 2 minutes, then add the vegetarian chicken strips and cook until heated through.

4

Add in the green peas, soy sauce, ground black pepper, and salt, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.

5

On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets to a thickness of about 5mm. Cut each sheet into 4 equal squares.

6

Place a generous spoonful of the filling onto the center of each square. Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle or rectangle and press the edges with a fork to seal them.

7

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush the tops of the pastries with the egg wash.

8

Place the prepared puffs on the lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the puffs are golden and crispy.

9

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack. Serve warm.
