Drain the tofu and press it to remove excess liquid. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and salt. Add the cubed tofu and gently toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare a steamer and steam the broccoli florets for about 4-5 minutes until they are tender but still crisp. Set aside.
In a non-stick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the marinated tofu and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown.
Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth, then add the veggie broth to the mixture.
Pour the cornstarch and broth mixture into the skillet. Stir constantly until the sauce starts to thicken.
Add the steamed broccoli and cooked tofu back to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat with the sauce evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Once everything is heated through and coated with the sauce, remove from heat.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Enjoy your Vegetarian Broccoli Chicken!
