Ideal for family meals or casual gatherings, Sweet Onion Kielbasa is comfort food at its finest!
Cut the kielbasa sausage into 1/2-inch thick slices and set aside.
Peel and slice the sweet onions into thin rings.
Mince the garlic cloves and set them aside.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter.
Once the butter has melted, add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes or until the onions are soft and golden brown.
Sprinkle the brown sugar over the caramelized onions and stir well to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sugar to dissolve and form a glaze.
Push the onions to one side of the skillet and add the sliced kielbasa to the empty side. Cook the kielbasa for 3-4 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
Add the remaining tablespoon of butter and the minced garlic to the skillet. Stir everything together to combine the flavors, cooking for 1-2 more minutes.
Season the mixture with salt and black pepper, adjusting to taste.
Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the Sweet Onion Kielbasa to a serving dish.
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot. Enjoy!
