πŸ“ Instructions

12 steps
1

In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg, lukewarm water, and melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.

2

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Form into a ball, cover with cling film, and let it rest for 30 minutes.

3

Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

4

In another bowl, combine the sliced apples, raisins, lemon juice, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and chopped walnuts.

5

Roll out the dough on a large, floured kitchen towel or parchment paper, stretching it carefully until it is very thin and transparent.

6

Brush the dough with half of the melted butter (30g).

7

Spread the apple mixture evenly over two-thirds of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

8

Using the towel or parchment paper to help, gently roll the dough from the side where the filling is, tucking in the edges as you go, to form a log shape.

9

Place the strudel seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

10

Brush the top with the remaining melted butter.

11

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

12

Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
