📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

In a large mixing bowl, combine soy flour, all-purpose flour, and cornstarch.

2

Add garlic powder, paprika, and salt to the flour mixture, stirring to distribute the seasoning evenly.

3

Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and gradually pour in water and soy sauce, mixing as you go to form a smooth and slightly sticky dough.

4

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes until it is soft and pliable.

5

Roll out the dough into a thin, even rectangle about 5mm thick.

6

Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into thin strips about 1cm wide and 10cm long.

7

Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium heat to about 175°C (350°F). Test the oil temperature by dropping a small piece of dough into the oil; it should sizzle immediately and start to turn golden within 10 seconds.

8

Fry the soy sticks in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per batch or until the sticks are golden brown and crispy.

9

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried soy sticks and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

10

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, or allow them to cool completely for a crunchy snack.
