📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.

2

Drain the water chestnuts and cut them into halves if they are large. Cut the chicken livers into bite-sized pieces, approximately the size of the water chestnuts.

3

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved.

4

Marinate the chicken livers and water chestnuts in the soy sauce mixture for at least 15 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure they are evenly coated.

5

While the ingredients marinate, partially cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes. The bacon should be pliable but not crispy. Drain the bacon slices on paper towels.

6

Take a piece of water chestnut and a piece of chicken liver, and wrap them together in a half-slice of the partially cooked bacon. Secure with a toothpick and place on the prepared baking rack.

7

Repeat the process for all the pieces until you’ve used up the ingredients.

8

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is golden and crispy.

9

Remove the Rumaki from the oven, let them cool slightly, and serve warm as an appetizer.
