Preheat your oven to 200Β°C (400Β°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Divide the whole-wheat pizza dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a thin, circular disc about 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter.
In a small bowl, mix the sugar-free marinara sauce with the dried oregano, garlic powder, and ground black pepper. Set aside.
Spread 2 tablespoons of the marinara sauce mixture onto half of each dough circle, leaving a 1 cm (0.5 inch) border around the edge.
Evenly distribute the cooked chicken, mushrooms, spinach leaves, and shredded mozzarella cheese onto the sauced half of each dough circle.
Fold the unsauced side of the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, and press the edges together firmly to seal. For extra security, crimp the edges with a fork.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to make an egg wash. Lightly brush the tops of each calzone with the egg wash.
Transfer the calzones to the prepared baking sheet and make 2 small slits on the top of each calzone with a sharp knife to allow steam to escape.
Bake the calzones in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked through.
Remove the calzones from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes before serving.
