📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 3/4 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

2

While the pasta is cooking, slice the kielbasa sausage into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Wash and trim the Swiss chard, separating the stems from the leaves. Slice the stems into small pieces and roughly chop the leaves.

3

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the kielbasa slices and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until browned and heated through. Remove the kielbasa from the skillet and set aside.

4

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the chopped Swiss chard stems and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.

5

Add the Swiss chard leaves to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until wilted. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

6

Return the cooked kielbasa to the skillet and stir to combine. Add the cooked pasta and reserved pasta water, tossing everything together over medium heat until well coated and heated through.

7

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Toss again to combine and allow the cheese to melt slightly.

8

Serve the pasta hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
