Carefully separate 12 cabbage leaves from the head of green cabbage. Trim the thick part of the stem on each leaf to make them easier to roll.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Blanch the cabbage leaves for 1-2 minutes until softened. Remove and place them on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to drain.
