Trim the woody ends off the asparagus. Slice one lemon into thin rounds and juice the other lemon. Set aside.
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
Dredge each chicken breast in all-purpose flour, shaking off excess flour.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and add the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
Sear the chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and almost cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. SautΓ© for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the chicken broth and lemon juice to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits at the bottom of the pan.
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Cover and let cook on low heat for an additional 5 minutes.
Add the asparagus and lemon slices to the skillet. Cover again and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165Β°F/74Β°C).
Sprinkle chopped parsley over the dish before serving.
Serve warm with the sauce drizzled on top of the chicken and asparagus.
