📝 Instructions

12 steps
1

Peel the potato and boil it until soft. Mash the potato and allow it to cool to room temperature.

2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, instant yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.

3

Add the mashed potato, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix the ingredients until you form a sticky dough.

4

Dust a clean surface with flour and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for approximately 45 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.

6

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and flatten it into a disc about 1 cm thick.

7

Heat the vegetable oil in a large, deep pan over medium heat until it reaches about 180°C (350°F).

8

Carefully lower one or two dough discs into the oil and fry each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place on paper towels to drain any excess oil.

9

Repeat the frying process with the remaining dough discs.

10

For the toppings, finely mince the garlic and mix it with a little bit of oil. Spread this garlic oil over each Langos.

11

Top each Langos with a spoonful of sour cream and sprinkle with grated cheese.

12

Serve warm and enjoy your homemade Langos!
