Ingredients

  • 20 pieces Medjool dates
  • 20 pieces Pineapple chunks
  • 10 slices Bacon slices
  • 20 pieces Toothpicks
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or set your grill to medium heat if grilling.

Step 2

Slice each Medjool date lengthwise and carefully remove the pit.

Step 3

Stuff each date with a piece of pineapple chunk, then gently press the date closed around the pineapple.

Step 4

Cut each bacon slice in half to create 20 pieces. Wrap one piece of bacon securely around each stuffed date.

Step 5

Use a toothpick to hold the bacon in place, inserting it through the center of the wrapped date.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, and grated ginger to create a glaze. Brush the glaze over the bacon-wrapped dates evenly.

Step 7

Place the wrapped dates on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or directly on a grill (if grilling).

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown. If grilling, cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning frequently to avoid burning.

Step 9

Remove the dates from the oven or grill and let them cool slightly before serving.

Step 10

Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the dates for garnish and serve immediately.
