Slice the tops off of the tomatoes and carefully scoop out the seeds and pulp with a spoon, creating a hollow cavity. Set the hollowed tomatoes aside.
Finely chop the garlic and the fresh basil leaves. Set aside.
In a bowl, combine the chopped garlic, half of the chopped basil, breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form the stuffing mixture.
