πŸ“ Instructions

8 steps
1

Wash the oranges thoroughly to remove any dirt or residue. Use a vegetable peeler to carefully peel the oranges, avoiding the bitter white pith. Set the peels aside.

2

In a clean glass jar with a tight lid (at least 1-liter capacity), combine the orange peels and brandy. Split the vanilla bean lengthwise, scrape out the seeds, and add both the seeds and the pod to the jar.

3

Seal the jar tightly and give it a gentle shake. Store the jar in a cool, dark place for about 2 weeks. Shake the jar gently every couple of days to help release the flavors.

4

After 2 weeks, prepare a simple syrup by combining the granulated sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved completely and the mixture is clear. Set aside to cool to room temperature.

5

Strain the orange-infused brandy through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean, large bowl to remove the peels and vanilla bean.

6

Add the cooled simple syrup to the strained brandy and stir well to combine. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more syrup (prepare more if needed).

7

Transfer the finished orange liqueur to clean, sterilized bottles. Seal them tightly and store in a cool, dark place for at least 1 week to allow the flavors to meld and mature.

8

Serve the homemade orange liqueur over ice, in cocktails, or as an after-dinner digestif. Enjoy responsibly!
