Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans with butter and dust with gluten-free flour.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
