Soft, fluffy, and irresistibly buttery, these Gluten-Free Classic Butter Rolls prove that you don't have to sacrifice texture or flavor when going gluten-free. Made with a blend of gluten-free all-purpose flour and xanthan gum for the perfect structure, these rolls rise beautifully thanks to instant yeast and a warm milk-and-butter mixture. A touch of apple cider vinegar enhances the dough's tenderness, while a comforting golden glaze of melted butter crowns each roll. Ready in under an hour and a half, including rise time, these homemade gluten-free rolls are perfect for holiday feasts, weeknight dinners, or any occasion where fresh bread is a must. Delightfully light and airy, they're best served warm and are sure to be a hit with gluten-free and non-gluten-free eaters alike!
In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free all-purpose flour, xanthan gum, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
In a small saucepan, warm the milk and 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter over low heat until the butter is melted and the mixture reaches about 110°F. Do not overheat.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and apple cider vinegar.
Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients, followed by the egg mixture. Mix until a smooth dough forms. You can do this using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment on medium speed for about 3-5 minutes.
Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Place the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
Cover the dish with the kitchen towel again and let the rolls rise for another 20-30 minutes in a warm spot until they have puffed up significantly.
Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and brush it over the tops of the rolls.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the rolls sound hollow when tapped.
Remove from the oven and let them cool in the baking dish for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve warm and enjoy your gluten-free classic butter rolls!
