📝 Instructions

9 steps
1

Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap the tofu in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

2

Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes, approximately 1.5 cm on each side.

3

In a medium bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and paprika.

4

Lightly toss the tofu cubes in the cornstarch mixture, making sure each piece is evenly coated. Shake off any excess cornstarch.

5

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F). Test the oil by dropping a small piece of tofu into it; if it sizzles immediately, the oil is ready.

6

Carefully add the tofu cubes to the hot oil in small batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the tofu turns golden brown and crispy.

7

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried tofu from the oil and transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

8

Repeat with the remaining tofu cubes.

9

Serve hot as is or with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as soy sauce, chili sauce, or sweet chili sauce. Enjoy!
