Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan) or 350°F, and grease and line a rectangular or square baking dish (approximately 20cm x 20cm) with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together 100 grams of the butter and the granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the flour and baking powder to the bowl and mix until a crumbly dough forms.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish to form the base of the slab. Set aside.

Bake the slab in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cornflakes are golden and crispy.
Remove the baking dish from the oven and allow the slab to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 12 squares or rectangles.
