📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cornstarch, and baking powder.

3

In another bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

4

Add the vanilla extract and egg yolks to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition.

5

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, and mix on low speed until just combined. The dough should be soft but not sticky.

6

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead the dough until smooth, then roll it out to a thickness of about 0.5 cm.

7

Using a round cookie cutter (about 2 inches or 5 cm in diameter), cut out the rounds of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheets.

8

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

9

Once the cookies are completely cool, spread about 1 tablespoon of dulce de leche onto the flat side of half the cookies. Top with the remaining cookies to form sandwiches.

10

Sift powdered sugar over the assembled alfajores before serving.
