📝 Instructions

8 steps
1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with 24 paper liners.

2

In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until warm (do not bring to a boil). Remove from the heat and steep the chai tea bags in the milk for 5 minutes. Allow the chai milk mixture to cool completely.

3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, chai milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix using a hand mixer or stand mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then on medium speed for 2 minutes until the batter is smooth.

4

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.

5

Bake in the preheated oven for 16-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

6

While the cupcakes are cooling, prepare the frosting. In a medium bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy, then gradually add the powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add the heavy cream, ground cinnamon, and ground cardamom, and continue to beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.

7

Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost them using a piping bag or spatula. Optionally, dust the top with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish.

8

Serve and enjoy your chai latte cupcakes with a warm beverage of choice!
