📝 Instructions

10 steps
1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

2

In a separate bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.

3

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.

4

Lightly flour a clean surface and roll the dough out to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a round donut cutter (or two round cutters of different sizes) to cut out donut shapes.

5

Heat the vegetable oil in a large, deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the donuts in batches for 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

6

In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and the 3 tablespoons of milk to make the glaze. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and place them on a wire rack to set.

7

To make the candied flowers, brush both sides of each edible flower lightly with egg white using a pastry brush.

8

Sprinkle the superfine sugar over the flowers, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow the flowers to dry on a parchment-lined tray for about 1 hour, or until hardened.

9

Decorate the glazed donuts with the candied flowers, pressing them gently into place so they adhere to the glaze.

10

Serve the donuts fresh or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
