Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken wings
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 peppers Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Adobo sauce (from the chipotle peppers)
  • 2 teaspoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped cilantro (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and set a wire rack on top if you have one for crispy wings.

Step 2

In a large bowl, pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This step ensures crispy skin when baked.

Step 3

Sprinkle the wings with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cornstarch. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.

Step 4

Arrange the wings on the wire rack (or directly on the baking sheet if not using a rack). Make sure they’re spread out for even cooking.

Step 5

Bake the wings for 20 minutes, flip them over, and bake for another 15 minutes until crispy and golden brown. While the wings bake, make the sauce.

Step 6

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the honey, brown sugar, chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and lime juice.

Step 7

Reduce the heat to low and simmer the sauce for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Step 8

Once the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the chipotle sauce over the wings and toss until they’re evenly coated.

Step 9

Optional: Sprinkle chopped cilantro and sesame seeds on top for garnish before serving.

Step 10

Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces or enjoy as is!
