Ingredients

  • 2 racks Baby back ribs
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons Cayenne pepper
  • 0.25 cups Apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cups Water
  • 1 cups Your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to 250°F (120°C) for indirect heat. If using charcoal, move the coals to one side; if using a gas grill, only light burners on one side.

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption. Use a paper towel to grip the membrane and pull it off.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a dry rub.

Step 4

Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the dry rub, pressing it into the meat to ensure it sticks.

Step 5

Place the ribs on the grill bone-side down over indirect heat. Close the grill lid and cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, maintaining a consistent grill temperature of 250°F.

Step 6

After 2 hours, mix the apple cider vinegar and water together in a spray bottle. Lightly mist the ribs with the mixture every 30 minutes to keep them moist.

Step 7

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with your favorite BBQ sauce. For a caramelized glaze, you can move the ribs to direct heat for 5-10 minutes at the very end, being careful not to burn the sauce.

Step 8

Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes. Slice between the bones to separate the ribs and serve hot.
